Sneezy Waters Sings Hank Williams
Sneezy Waters
CD BCD122
Classic album of Hank Williams songs
is finally re-released in CD format!
Sneezy Waters is a veteran performer who has been playing his music across Canada and around the world for more
than 30 years. From 1977 to 1990, he garnered rave reviews portraying Hank Williams in Maynard Collins’ acclaimed
play “Hank Williams: The Show He Never Gave,” which toured extensively throughout Canada, and was subsequently
made into a feature film. In 1984 the film won Sneezy the Best Actor Award in the 3e Festival International du
Film Musical in Grenoble, France, and was also nominated for Best Country Motion Picture at the 19th Annual Academy
of Country Music Awards.
Sneezy Waters Sings Hank Williams, originally released in 1981, features Sneezy’s own inimitable versions of classic
Hank Williams songs. Rather than producing a soundtrack to the play, Sneezy decided to interpret the songs as he
would sing them, not as Hank Williams would sing them. Almost twenty years later, this album still stands as a
fine representation of a contemporary take on Hank Williams’ music.
Featuring songs like “Jambalaya,” “Weary Blues (From Waiting),” “Lovesick Blues,” “Cold Cold Heart,” “Hey Good
Looking,” “Mind Your Own Business,” and more, the album includes an all-star cast of supporting musicians, including
Graham Townsend (fiddle), George Essery (Pedal Steel), Willie P. Bennett (harmonica), Randy Hill (mandolin), Ken
Whiteley (accordion), Ed Bimm (piano), David Woodhead (bass), Peter Beaudoin (drums) and the Humber River Valley
Boys.
Produced by Bill Garrett, this album is a must-have for any fan of
Hank Williams and country music.
"Sneezy Waters gives fans music, music, music."
